The newest addition to the home of country music offers you fresh air and great views. The radio tower on top of the Hall of Fame Rotunda is right above you, and below you, 4th Avenue spreads on into downtown.
Surrounded by roses, ivy and sweet gum trees, the terrace takes full advantage of nature to create an urban park-like setting. It’s encased in crab orchard stone and ornamental steel, with a fountain of water right about the spot you will stand to soak in the sites of Nashville.
But the terrace is more than just a great view. It’s a love story. About Marj and George Aubrey Crump, owners of the historic WCMS AM/FM in Norfolk Virginia - one of the first and longest running country music stations in the United States. The terrace was built by Marj to honor her husband. And those white roses are a tribute, too, as that’s the only rose George saw fit to give his wife throughout their 60 year marriage.
In a city known for it’s beautiful climate, the
terrace is appropriate for any season. But don’t worry should the forecast be
less than ideal, we’ll be prepared. Sort of like your own back porch. With a
cityscape for a view.
