The number in the lower right hand corner refers to the chronological order in which the art was created during the year, not to a particular numbered edition. For instance, the Dark Eyes of the Marquis is numbered #18-2005, which means it was finished in January or early February 2005. The Hank Fame & Pain is numbered #155-2004, indicating it was created late in the year 2004.
"Each piece is unique, starting with a very small number of prints and a fundamental theme of workbooks. Then I begin the individual layering and brayering. Usually I seem to end the year somewhere between 150 and 175, which includes approximately forty to forty-five themes. Then, I start again at number one at the beginning of the new year.
"On occasion, I have developed custom monoprint designs for private and corporate clients. However, my role as printmaker of this vast archive is best served by constantly creating new pieces based on my interpretation of this magnificent archive."
