Past workshops have included hands-on musical instument activities, dance workshops, guitar workshops, concerts and recording experiences. Some programs require reservations, as space is limited. Fun for Families programs are free. Girl Scouts may tour the museum on the same day for a reduced rate of $5. For more information, please visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum web site.
Take a tour of Historic RCA Studio B and learn about the studio where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Eddy Arnold and others recorded hit songs. Groups of fifteen or more can arrange for a private tour. Ticket prices vary.
Attend a Saturday Songwriter Session. During this program, songwriters perform their songs, share the stories behind their songs, discuss what it's like to be a songwriter, and answer questions. This program is included with museum admission.

Over 100 people have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. First, select a Hall of Fame member from the museum's web site. After you have made your choice, research that person using the Internet. During your museum visit, find the Hall of Fame member's plaque and report back to the troop about that person.
Review the web search and complete one of the three parts using the museum's web site. Share what you have learned with your troop.
The Grand Ole Opry has been broadcast every Saturday night on 650 WSM-AM for over eighty years. Now the Opry can be heard online, and cable channel GAC: Great American Country carries an hour of the show beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Watch or listen to an Opry broadcast at home and report back to the troop about what you saw or heard. Some questions to answer: Who did you hear performing? How is an Opry broadcast different from a regular radio broadcast? Where can you go to see the show in person?
The museum offers both self-guided and guided tours for Girl Scout troops.
Self-guided tours can be arranged any day of the week during Museum hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the ticket window, request a Gallery Guide for the Self-Guided Museum Visit and a Fun for Families brochure. The gallery guide has information about museum rules, the architecture and layout of the building, and artifacts that can help to guide discussion during your visit. The Fun for Families brochure includes activities and discussion questions that can enhance your experience in our featured exhibits.
Guided tours are available only on weekdays and must be arranged at least one month prior to the visit. A limited number of guided tours are given each day. To make a reservation, please call (615) 416-2001.

Talk as a troop about what to expect from a visit to a museum. Discuss museums and the functions they serve in our community. What other museums have you visited? What did you learn from those visits?
As a troop, discuss the patch requirements.
Discuss your trup in detail: conduct, dress, food, spending money, ect.
Encourage troop members to bring a pencil and a sketchpad to record the fun and interesting things they will see and hear during their visit.
Go over the museum rules:
Walk, never run, through the museum.
Flash photography, videotaping, food, and drink are not allowed in the galleries in order to protect the artifacts and exhibit materials. We want them to last a long time.
Groups should stay together when visiting the museum. It is always helpful to have a meeting place in case you do get separated.
If you have questions, please ask a Visitor Services Representative. They are stationed on each floor.
Pick up a Visitors Guide at the information desk upon your arrival. It includes a map of the museum and exhibits.
Look for the special areas of the museum for children. Listening stations, hands-on children's activities, and a children's interactive program are located on the third floor.
